Privacy Policy

SportsIQ ("we", "us", or "our") operates the SportsIQ and SportsIQ Live mobile applications and web app (the "Service"). This page tells you what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Phone number — used for one-time-passcode (OTP) sign-in. We do not call or text you for any reason other than the sign-in OTP itself unless you opt in to receive a cash reward, in which case the SMS message containing the reward delivery link may be sent to your phone.
• Display handle — a short username you choose, shown on bar leaderboards.
• Game-play data — the predictions you make, the trivia answers you submit, the wagers you risk, the IQ points you earn or lose, the bars you check in to, and the times you played.
• Device + connection metadata — IP address, browser / device model, app version, and crash logs, used solely to operate the service and improve reliability.
• Cash-reward recipient details — if you qualify for and request a cash reward, we collect the recipient's name and phone number to deliver the reward via Tremendous (a third-party reward provider). We use this information solely to deliver the reward.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not collect your physical location beyond the bar you voluntarily check in to.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
• We do not collect financial information (credit card, bank account). The app is free; cash rewards are delivered via SMS link to a prepaid card you redeem on a separate Tremendous-operated page.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

How we use your information

• To authenticate your sign-in via OTP.
• To run the game (track your IQ, your predictions, your standings, your bar visits).
• To deliver cash rewards when you qualify for one.
• To produce aggregate, anonymized analytics about how the service is used (e.g., the percentage of users who picked each side of a prediction). Aggregate analytics never identify individual users.

Who we share your information with

• Tremendous (rewards delivery). When you request a cash reward, your recipient phone number is shared with Tremendous to deliver the reward link. Tremendous's privacy policy is at tremendous.com/privacy.
• Hosting + infrastructure providers. We use Vercel (front-end hosting), Railway (backend), and Supabase (database). These providers process data on our behalf under their respective terms.
• The bar you check in to. When you check in to a bar, your handle and current IQ may be displayed on that bar's leaderboard / TV. Your phone number is never shown to a bar.
• We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes.

Children

SportsIQ is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention

We retain your account data while you are an active user. If you request deletion of your account or stop using the service for 24 consecutive months, we delete or anonymize your personal information except where retention is required by law (for example, cash-reward records may be retained for tax-reporting purposes).

Your rights

You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or request that we delete it, by contacting us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated in-app before they take effect.
